Types of Fishing Lures - Frog
Frogs are a favorite food for bass, blackfish, pike, and some other predatory fish. There are many species of frog lures, including the hard-plastic bait frog with three hooks, the hollow soft plastic frog with double hooks that are upturned, stuck on the body, and will not get hooked when passing weeds and trees. Solid soft bait frogs usually come with a somewhat heavy hook.The heads of these water-floating thunder frogs may be concave shapes with wide-open mouths, which are forward in order to allow the frogs to splash and ripple during swimming. Most hollow and soft bait frogs are used in areas with heavy vegetation, and their hooks do not hang grass, allowing you to fish in duckweed-heavy waters at any time.

What is the Right Rod for Frog Fishing?

A. Hollow Body Frog
The hollow frog is mainly characterized by a hollow, flexible plastic body with upturned double hooks. The body is stuck on the hook, and it will not hang grass, and because it is very soft, it is easy for the fish to catch the bait when it bites the hook.
When fishing in waters with a lot of duckweed, the angler can drag the hollow-body frog through the duckweed on the surface. If you are a beginner, the duckweed-covered water may look thick and difficult to fish, but this is the exact opposite. The vegetation only looks thick on the surface, but the water is very empty, and bass are especially fond of hunting in such areas.

B. Hard-Plastic Frogs

The hollow-body frog is as effective in clean water as in water with duckweed. D. Soft-Plastic Frogs
The solid soft-bait frog, like the hollow frog, does not hang on grass, but sinks slowly instead of floating on the surface. The angler will put the hook through a wide slot in the frog's body, usually a hook with a little weight, which acts like a keel to keep the frog swimming in a straight line, with the body facing up.
Soft-bait frogs feature legs that kick and swing around.
